GAFUNG PETROLEUM ANNUAL CSR AT SALVATION ARMY, KUCHING

Gafung Petroleum has turned its attention to the Salvation Army Kuching Children’s Home as part of its annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) on October 27, 2017.

Tang Kuok Sing, Director of Gafung Petroleum, led his team to visit the children at the Salvation Army Kuching. They sponsored hi-tea meals to the children and had interactive games together. They have distributed hampers, school items, and toys to each of the kids.

The visitors extended their appreciation to Major T Chelvee, the superintendent of the children’s home, for allowing them to bring cheer to the little ones.

The company aims to play a vital role in actively engaging to take part in giving support to their community, especially the children and families in need.

GAFUNG PETROLEUM, BINTULU PORT INK MOA ON SHIP BUNKERING SERVICE

Gafung Petroleum (M) Sdn Bhd and Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd yesterday signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) on ship bunkering service.

Present to witness the event were Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur, Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Development Datuk Naroden Majais and Gafung Petroleum (M) Sdn Bhd chairman Dato Sri Mohamed Khalid Yusuf.

Signing on the behalf of Gafung Petroleum (M) Sdn Bhd were its managing director Tang Kuok Sing and project manager Zainin Abd Majid while signing on behalf of Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad were its group chief executive officer Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah and Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Omar Salleh.

Khalid said the MoA was indeed a giant leap forward for their company and they are very excited to start operations as soon as practical and look forward to working closely with staff of Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd to ensure their customers get the best service and value for money and that their symbiotic business relationship will yield reasonable profits for both parties.

He said to ensure business sustainability, Gafung places great importance on the safety of its operations as well as the health of its staff by minimising exposures to hazardous chemicals and providing protective gear.

“We are also conscious of our government’s environmental policies and committed to take all necessary actions to ensure that our operations will not in any way adversely affect the environment, and to prevent pollution.

“With proper standard operating procedures in place we are also committed to be fully compliant with the rules and regulations related to fuel bunkering industry.

“We believe voluntary compliance will help us assure the enforcement authorities on the legality of our operations, thereby reducing unnecessary delays and minimise vessels turnaround time,” he said.

Gafung Petroleum (M) Sdn Bhd, a full Sarawakian registered company, was established in 2007.

It owns assets of 16 road tankers and 16 oil tanker ships ranging from 300 DWT to 3200 DWT and has 12 years of experience in supplying marine bunker products such as marine gas oil, fuel oil, diesel and lubricants offshore and onshore in the region. The company is also registered as a petroleum dealer with Petronas, helping them to distribute fuel in port and at off port limit (OPL).
